Top Areas To Serve Print E-mail
Open Arms has many opportunities to serve.  We are all called, as God has enabled us, to use the gifts and talents he has given to benefit his people and support our church family.  Unifying to serve the Lord is a wonderful way to develop healthy and deep relationships with others, especially as a new member.

Many ministries need help, and are easy ways to plug in, and connect to people.  There are always others who are ready to assist and train you as you take this important step.  Most of the areas on this list take place on Sunday mornings, to support our weekly worship services.  Take a look and learn how God may have equipped you to help.

  1. Ushering: These volunteers provide worshipers with an order of service and Bible as they enter the sanctuary, as well as assist them to locate seating.  View this page for more information.
  2. Greeting:  Greeters stand near the building entrance, offering a smile and a handshake to those who come.  They also assist to find nametags or to sign up if one is needed.  Check here for more details.
  3. Worship Team:  Our worship team is made up of talented and committed vocalists and instrumentalists who love to praise the Lord.  If you are musically gifted, and would like to help in this area, feel free to approach the worship leader at the end of the services.  Go here to learn more.
  4. Audio/Visual:  Those who man the A/V booth are responsible for managing the sound system and the projections that are displayed throughout the worship services.  These are not difficult tasks to learn, but do require attention to detail.  Training is available monthly.  View our Worship Arts page for more information.
  5. Nursery:  Our nursery is available to provide child care during worship gatherings.  Spend time singing and playing with our youngest members.  Light feeding and diaper changing is usually required.  View more details on this page.
  6. Children's Church:  We offer Children's Church as an opportunity for education and fun for those aged 4-10 during the sermon.  Typical activities include a scripture lesson, craft, and musical time. Learn more here
  7. Maintenance Team: Many in our church members are gifted to work with their hands.  Often, light work is needed to help tighten things up, paint, clean, or make repairs throughout our building.  Our Trustee team often puts a call out for volunteers to assist with major projects.  If you might want to help on a more consistent basis, however, contact Ted Bower at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
