Young 5’s Weekly News
April 3, 2017
We will be reviewing letters and sounds this week. We will be doing some planting activities as we focus on the centers theme this week of Spring/Planting. We will learn what a plant needs (sun, water, soil, and air) and the parts of a plant.
Friday, April 7 is the Detroit Tigers Opening Day. I personally feel this is a day worth celebrating each year. We will have an Opening Day celebration in the classroom. We will eat popcorn, Cracker Jacks, and nachos. We have invited the elementary kids and Miss Sadie to join us so we will not need a parent volunteer. I will put out a sign-up sheet for snacks. We will also watch a movie that morning while we enjoy our snacks.
We will learn about Jesus suffering and dying on the cross this week. We will also begin telling the Easter story using the Resurrection eggs. (I recommend these for home too.) I will also be sending home a recipe for Resurrection Rolls. It has become a tradition in our home. Making these is a delicious way to study and remember Jesus’ sacrifice.
